Outreach

Outreach

One of the primary goals of the Sequoyah Robotics team is to expand STEM education and the impact of FIRST both locally and globally. We are constantly looking for new ways to reach out to the community to share the vision and mission of first and to show how fun STEM can be! Below are some example projects on which we are currently working:

FIRST INTERACT

Our competition team has partnered with Canton Rotary to create a chartered Interact club. Through this club, we create mobility wheelchairs for disabled children. This collaboration was originally conceived and established by Firestorm Robotics, team 6341. If you want to learn more about this collaboration, CLICK HERE.

ENABLING THE FUTURE

By working with our Engineering Drafting and Design Pathway students, we have established a chartered branch of E-Nable, an organization that provides open source plans for 3D-printable prosthetics as well as a community of recipients for whom students can provide prosthetic arms. FLL MENTORING

Our team members spend their Monday afternoons volunteering at Dean Rusk Middle School helping the FLL team with their current year challenge. Additionally, our team members are volunteering at local FLL competitions.
